Invitation to the 52^nd IEEE Conference on Decision and Control

The 52^nd IEEE Conference on Decision and Control will be held Tuesday through Friday, December 10-13, 2013 at Palazzo dei Congressi, Florence, Italy. Pre-conference Workshops will be held on Monday December 9, 2013.

The CDC is recognized as the premier scientific and engineering conference dedicated to the advancement of the theory and practice of systems and control. The CDC annually brings together an international community of researchers and practitioners in the field of automatic control to discuss new research results, perspectives on future developments, and innovative applications relevant to decision making, systems and control, and related areas.

The 52^nd CDC will feature contributed and invited papers, as well as workshops, and may also include tutorial sessions.

The IEEE CDC is hosted by the IEEE Control Systems Society (CSS) in cooperation with the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM), the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), the Japanese Society of Instrument and Control Engineers (SICE), and the European Control Association (EUCA).

Florence, an open-air museum. The historic centre of Florence contains such a wealth of masterpieces that it is difficult to separate the city from its artworks. In 1982 it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the motivation being that it encapsulates the whole history of the city, from the "Roman Quadrilateral" in the Piazza della Repubblica area to the narrow streets of the medieval center, the splendours of the 16^th-century Pitti Palace and the changes wrought at the time when Florence was the capital of Italy. With its extraordinarily beautiful churches, its museums and art collections, historic gardens, piazzas, streets and ancient palaces, Florence can justifiably be defined as an "open-air museum" - not simply a container for artworks but a work of art in its own right.

CDC 2013 Submission and Registration Policies

All papers submitted to the CDC 2013, whether for review or publication upon acceptance, must be written in English and formatted in the standard two-column format provided on PaperPlaza.
In their initial submission form, manuscripts may be up to eight (8) pages long. PaperPlaza will not permit longer papers to be uploaded. The decision regarding the acceptance of each paper is at the discretion of the conference's Technical Program Committee.
At final submission time for accepted papers, the regular length for manuscripts is limited to six (6) pages. At that time, papers up to eight (8) pages long may be submitted upon payment of over-length page charges of 175 EUR for each page in excess of six.
If a paper is accepted, at least one of the authors listed on the paper must attend the conference and present the paper according to the scheduling decided by the conference's Technical Program Committee.
In the event that the presenter is unable to attend the conference for any reason, it is his/her responsibility to ensure that the paper is presented by a qualified colleague.
At least one of the authors listed on the paper must register for the CDC 2013 to upload the final manuscript.
Student registrants may upload one final paper.
Regular registrants may upload up to three final papers.
Additional papers can be uploaded for 200 EUR each.
All submissions will be tested for similarity and overlap with prior published material using the iThenticate tool. Results of such overlap will be made available to the Program Committee for evaluation. In case of possible violations of the IEEE ethics rules in publishing, the case will be investigated by a committee that reports to the IEEE CSS VP for Publications.
